DISCOVER UAE

Commonly shortened to UAE, the United Arab Emirates is made up of seven states, or emirates. Since the 1950s, when oil was discovered in the region, the UAE’s economy has undergone rapid change. As well as oil and gas exports, the country has focused on growing its construction and tourism industries; to the point where these go hand in hand now. The impressive feats of modern design on display in Dubai are among the main attractions for visitors.

TOURISM

The United Arab Emirates is one of the world's top tourism destinations, with 20.4 million hotel guests in 2017, according to the ‘UAE's Figures 2017’ report issued recently by the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority.

The country is a diverse mosaic of 7 Emirates, each with its own unique characteristics and charm.

Abu Dhabi, the capital and the largest Emirate, is home to vast desert landscapes to be explored and one of the most majestic mosques in the world, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. It is also the first city in the world, outside of Paris, to house the Louvre Museum.

Dubai is known for its iconic skyscrapers, palm-shaped islands, city-sized malls, indoor ski slopes and palatial beach resorts.

Sharjah and Ajman are neighboring seaside towns but each offers a unique experience. Ajman is a cultural playground with a range of museums and historic sites, while Sharjah is a patron of the fine arts, known mostly for the Sharjah Art Foundation and its biennial.

Umm Al Quwain is the historical hub of the country, full of cultural landmarks and sites.

Ras Al Khaimah is the UAE’s natural playground with a range of landscapes, from mountains to sea-sides for people to explore.

Similarly, Fujairah is known for a series of rugged mountains trapped between Fujairah and Oman. It is also one of the most fertile regions in the country.

All this make the UAE a destination which suits the aspirations and desires of students.

Accredited universities and colleges in the UAE can secure a visa for their students whether international students or students already residing in the UAE. Students should refer to terms and conditions listed in each university or college to know specific requirements for admission and the visa process.

Admission to a UAE university does not guarantee that a visa will be issued. Visa issuance is subject to certain requirements, which include passing a medical fitness test, a security check and the approval of the GDRFA in the relevant emirate.
